The Index Tracker Tool - What is it?/How to use it?
The Index Tracker Tool is designed to help you research raw index data for indexes used in annuity strategies. This tool allows you to analyze and compare various indices to make informed decisions.
Setting Filters
- Step 1: Select a client and/or manually adjust their information. This ensures that the data you are working with is tailored to your specific needs.

- Step 2: You can search for a particular index by either name or ticker symbol.
- Step 3: Select the type of annuity you are looking for, such as Fixed Indexed Annuity (FIA) or Registered Index-Linked Annuity (RILA). This helps narrow down your search to relevant indices.
- Step 4: Refine your search by applying specific limits:
- Include indices w/o accounts: Displays indexes that are not currently used by any annuity on Annuities Genius. It helps you find indexes that are available but not currently associated with any annuity products.
- Live index data only: Limits the results to show only real index returns, removing any hypothetical index data. This ensures that you are looking at actual performance data rather than projections or estimates.

The Results
The results show the average annualized index returns by historical period (YTD, last year, last 3 years, last 5 years...):

You can click on any column header to re-sort the results by highest to lowest values in that column:

To view index returns for a custom date range, simply set the desired dates in the filter on the left. The information will then update to replace the data in the last column (since inception).

When you are finished, remember to create a PDF report of the results (You can also limit the report to only show specific indexes by selecting the ones you want to include):
