How to Filter Out Advisory and Broker Dealer Products
Product Deck Setup - Your Product Deck controls which products appear throughout the software.
If You Have NOT Created a Product Deck Yet:
Please follow the guide: How to Create Your First Product Deck
(Go to that article and complete the full setup process.)
If your page is open halfway or you're using a mobile device. If your screen is smaller or the window isn’t fully expanded, the platform will collapse the navigation into the hamburger menu (three lines in the top left) Click that menu to open the side navigation ☰ icon , Here you can find Current Case, Current Products, and the tools available in your plan.

- Select Create Deck.
- Give your deck a name and choose your main distribution channel (e.g. Independent Agent).
- Enter a name for your product deck. Each deck must have a name before it can be saved. Use something descriptive (e.g., Retirement Cases or MYGA Only) so you can easily organize and find it later.
Note: You can only pick one main channel here. To add more, continue to Step 3.
Step 2 – Edit Carriers
- Click Edit Carriers.
- Select the insurance companies you’re contracted with.
- Click Save.

Step 3 – Edit Distribution Channels
If You Already Have a Product Deck:

You do not need to create a new one.
- Go to Current Products – All Products
- Open your existing deck
- Click Edit Distribution Channels
- Confirm the correct channel (Independent Agent, Broker-Dealer, or Fee-Based)
- Click Save
If products are missing, review your Distribution Channel and carrier selections.

- Independent Agents – Self-employed, sell from many carriers.
- Fee-Based Advisors / RIAs (often commission-free) – Charge fees instead of commissions, may use fee-based annuities.
- Broker-Dealers – Firm reps who sell investments + annuities under compliance rules.
- Banks – Sell annuities through in-house advisors, usually limited options.
- Career Agents – Work for one insurer, sell mainly that company’s products.
Step 4 – Save Your Deck
- Confirm annuity types.
- Auto saves or click the green button
- Click Create Deck to finalize.
When searching for products, you will see a Distribution Channel label displayed on the right side of each product. This indicates whether the product is Fee-Based, Broker-Dealer, or another channel.
